File Storage
We take the security and organisation of your video footage seriously. Our structured file storage system ensures that your footage is safely backed up, accessible for editing, and delivered in the best possible way, with clear protocols in place for managing your files throughout the entire life of the project.
Here’s What You Can Expect
Organised File Storage: After a shoot, all original uncompressed RAW footage is transferred to our main server and backed up in a second physical drive AND to the cloud (3 copies in total) for added protection.
Processed Footage: To make footage more manageable, we typically compress RAW files when delivering the footage to you, creating a smaller, more accessible version for easier access. Processed raw footage is delivered to you free of charge and included with our videography services.
Access Upon Request: The original, uncompressed RAW footage can be delivered to you upon request for a nominal fee, ensuring access to the unprocessed files when necessary. Due to its size, we typically deliver via hard drive to your nominated address. For international deliveries, we will confirm whether it’s possible depending on the project.
Safe Editing Process: Editing footage is transferred to portable SSDs for easy access, with weekly or bi-weekly backups to the main server and cloud to protect your project data.
File Delivery: Once the video is edited, we share the final version with you via a secure file-sharing service, such as Dropbox or Google Drive.
Temporary Storage: Footage is typically stored for 90 days or slightly longer, after which it is deleted. You will be notified before any files are removed, giving you the opportunity to secure a copy.
Efficient File Tracking: Our comprehensive project directory ensures that each piece of footage is tracked and organised, enabling us to provide you with clear access to all files and versions.
