Bilue needed a case study video to showcase their collaboration with Athena Home Loans. Bilue developed the mobile app that Athena uses to service customers, which has contributed to Athena’s success as a disruptor in the Australian home loans market.
For the production of this video, we visited Athena’s headquarters in Sydney, and worked with both Athena and Bilue to make this testimonial video.
We were in touch with the Bilue team to finalise the brief for production day. The brief included questions and talking points.
Once a filming date was confirmed, we prepared a list of shots to ensure consistency with the talking points.
On production day, we had a videographer on-site with cameras, audio, and lighting equipment.
We decided to tackle the interviews first, as these were the most important pieces for the video. We asked questions and brought up talking points to prompt the interviewees to discuss their experience with the Bilue team and the app development process. Each interview lasted about 20 minutes.
After the interviews, we moved to filming b-roll shots throughout the Athena headquarters, going through the list of shots previously prepared, plus some improvisations on the spot. Filming the b-rolls after the interviews also helped so we could reference what was said during the pieces to camera and try to get matching b-rolls for the edit.
Post-production and Delivery
First thing we worked on was the selection of the interviews. Each speaker had roughly 20 minutes on camera, and the final video had to be below 5 minutes, so the priority here was to boil down the 4 interviews to the length of the video.
After selecting and approving the interviews, we finished the edit by adding background music, b-roll shots, graphics, captions, audio mixing, and colour grading. A few drafts were exchanged with Bilue before arriving to this final version, which was delivered in 2 formats: 1920×1080 (landscape) and 1080×1080 (square).
