VIDEO PRODUCTION NOTES
KPSM is not just an ordinary disability service provider – it is a beacon of hope and empowerment, owned and operated by Aboriginal people, serving the vibrant Sydney community. At the heart of this inspiring collaboration is Uncle Greg, a revered Aboriginal elder, whose wisdom and influence have been instrumental in bridging the gap between the Aboriginal community and the disability service provider, KPSM.
When KPSM approached us to create a testimonial video, we knew it had to be something extraordinary. We filmed this at the community centre in Penrith NSW, where we embarked on capturing the essence of Uncle Greg’s profound insights. The initial two hours were devoted to engaging interviews with Uncle Greg and Paul Stewart, the visionary owner of KPSM. Together, they shared their perspectives on disability and the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal people in accessing the right service providers.
We employed two cameras, professional lighting, and professional audio equipment for the interviews. The result was a visually stunning and cinematic setup, utilising the distinctive 2.35:1 aspect ratio – instead of the usual 16:9 ratio – an unconventional choice that allowed us to infuse the video with a compelling documentary-like atmosphere. We wanted every frame to evoke emotion, to captivate and inspire viewers.
Beyond the interviews, the rest of the day was dedicated to capturing captivating B-roll footage, bringing the story to life. We witnessed Uncle Greg and Paul in action, witnessing their commitment and dedication firsthand. Their tireless efforts resonated through each shot, showcasing the positive impact KPSM has on the community.
In the editing room, our challenge was to weave these powerful moments into a cohesive narrative that would leave a lasting impression. Our focus was clear: to present KPSM as not just a good company, but as a transformative force within the community. Through careful selection from the interviews, we crafted a concise and impactful video that highlights the incredible work of KPSM. Every word was chosen with the intention to convey the message of hope and support that KPSM brings to individuals with disabilities and the Aboriginal community as a whole.
This testimonial video is a testament to KPSM’s dedication and the profound difference it makes. Together, with Uncle Greg’s guidance and KPSM’s unwavering commitment, we hope this video inspires others to embrace inclusivity and seek out trusted service providers like KPSM, who are changing lives.
