When global healthcare leader Ansell approached us to produce a case-study video, the goal was clear: tell a real, human story that highlights the risks of latex exposure in healthcare and advocates for a safer future.
At the centre of this production is Michael Alston — an athlete, Paralympian, and someone whose life has been directly shaped by a preventable latex allergy.
This project wasn’t just about creating a video. It was about giving a voice to an experience that could help drive change across the healthcare industry.
Services Provided in This Production
For this video, we provided the following services to achieve a polished and engaging result:

The story: from childhood exposure to lifelong impact
Michael was born with spina bifida, which meant frequent hospital visits throughout his early life. During those years, repeated exposure to latex products led to the development of a severe latex allergy — a condition that continues to impact his life today.
Through this case study, Michael shares:
His early experiences in healthcare environments
The unexpected long-term consequences of latex exposure
His journey as an athlete, including competing in Paralympic fencing
Why moving towards latex-free healthcare solutions is so important
The narrative is both personal and educational — designed to resonate emotionally while reinforcing a critical message for healthcare professionals and organisations.
Production approach: creating space for an authentic story
To do justice to such a personal and important story, we recommended a controlled studio environment in Sydney.
This allowed us to:
Create a distraction-free setting
Carefully shape lighting and composition
Capture consistent, high-quality audio and visuals
Give Michael the space to speak openly and comfortably
3-camera interview setup
We filmed the interview using a three-camera setup, which allowed us to:
Capture multiple angles for a dynamic edit
Maintain visual engagement throughout the story
Seamlessly cut between moments without losing authenticity
Alongside the interview, we filmed supporting b-roll of Michael to visually reinforce key moments of his story.
Post-production: shaping the narrative
In post-production, the focus was on refining the story while preserving its authenticity.
Key elements of the edit:
Interview crafting
Carefully selecting and structuring Michael’s responses to build a compelling narrative
Music and tone
Choosing a soundtrack that supports the emotional weight of the story without overpowering it
Colour grading
Creating a polished, cinematic look consistent with Ansell’s brand
Stock footage integration
Incorporating relevant visuals to support Michael’s reflections on healthcare and latex exposure
The goal was to balance emotional storytelling with clarity and professionalism — ensuring the message lands effectively with a healthcare audience.
Deliverables: multi-format for maximum impact
To support Ansell’s communication strategy, we delivered multiple versions of the video:
Extended cut (~4 minutes)
A complete case study for in-depth storytelling
Short cut (60 seconds)
Designed for marketing, social media, and awareness campaigns
Formats
Landscape (16:9)
Vertical (9:16) for social platforms
This approach ensures the content can be used across multiple channels while maintaining consistency in messaging.
Why this project matters
This production goes beyond typical corporate video work.
It highlights how video production in Sydney can be used not just for marketing, but for advocacy, education, and real-world impact.
By combining:
A strong personal story
A thoughtful production approach
Strategic post-production
…we helped transform a lived experience into a compelling piece of communication that supports Ansell’s mission for a latex-free future in healthcare.
