If you’ve never worked with a video production company before, it’s completely normal to wonder how the whole process actually unfolds.
What happens after you send that first enquiry?
When do you pay?
Who owns the footage?
How long does everything take?
This guide walks you through exactly how we work—from first contact to final delivery—so you know what to expect at every stage.
1. Get in Touch
Every project starts with a simple conversation.
You can reach out by calling, email, or enquiry form. At this stage, you don’t need a fully polished brief—just a general idea of what you’re trying to achieve.
- A corporate interview
- A testimonial video
- Event coverage
- Social media content
- A case study or brand video
The goal here is to open the conversation and understand whether we’re a good fit for your project.
2. Discuss the Details
Once you’ve made contact, we’ll go through the key details together.
This is where we clarify things like:
- The purpose of the video
- Your target audience
- Filming location(s)
- Timing and deadlines
- Style and references (if any)
- Deliverables (raw footage, edits, formats, etc.)
Some clients come in with a very clear brief, others don’t—and both are perfectly fine. Part of the process is helping shape the direction so we can move forward with confidence.
3. Quote or Book Directly
From here, there are two ways to proceed:
Option A: Custom Quote
If your project is more complex or tailored, you’ll receive a custom quote based on your requirements.
Option B: Ready-Made Packages
If your needs are straightforward (for example, a corporate interview shoot), you can book directly through the website using pre-defined services. Our packages are designed to be transparent, easy to book, and inclusive of everything you need—with no hidden fees.
4. Secure the Booking (Payment Required)
This is a key step—and one that’s often misunderstood.
Your shoot date is only confirmed once payment is received.
Depending on the project, this may be:
- A deposit, or
- Full payment upfront
No payment = no booking.
This ensures your date is locked in, resources are allocated, and there’s no risk of double booking.
We accept credit card online payments (via Stripe, we will provide a link), payments through our online booking system directly on this website, or bank transfers.
5. The Shoot
This is where everything comes to life.
On the day of the shoot, we handle:
- Camera setup (often multi-camera for interviews)
- Lighting
- Professional audio capture
- Direction and framing
- B-roll and supporting visuals
Whether it’s a structured interview or event coverage, the goal is always the same: capture high-quality footage that gives you maximum flexibility in post-production.
6. Raw Footage Is Yours
One of the key differences in how we work:
You get the raw footage.
After the shoot:
- Footage is processed and organised
- Delivered in a high-quality, usable format
- Shared via a download link
This means you own your content, can reuse it in the future, and are not locked into a single edit.
7. Final Payment (If Applicable)
If there’s any remaining balance after the shoot, this is settled before editing begins.
This ensures the project moves forward without delays and timelines are maintained.
8. Editing
Once everything is confirmed, we move into post-production.
This includes:
- Selecting the best takes
- Structuring the narrative
- Colour correction
- Audio clean-up
- Music and pacing
- Branding elements (if required)
The focus is always on clarity, quality, and impact.
9. Revisions
You’ll receive a first draft for review.
From there, you provide feedback and we refine the video together to ensure the final result aligns with your expectations.
10. Final Delivery
Once everything is approved, you’ll receive your final files.
- The main video
- Social cutdowns
- Captioned and non-captioned versions
- Different formats (landscape, vertical, etc.)
Everything is delivered ready to use for your website, social media, or internal distribution.
11. Raw Footage Is Discarded
After delivery, there’s one final step that’s important to understand:
Raw footage is not stored indefinitely.
Once the project is complete and delivered, the original files are eventually discarded. Prior to deletion, we’ll notify you and offer a final opportunity to download any footage or files you may have missed.
We strongly recommend downloading your files promptly and backing them up in multiple locations.
Why This Process Works
This workflow has been refined over time to achieve three key things:
- Clarity – You always know what’s happening next
- Efficiency – No bottlenecks or confusion
- Ownership – You fully control your content
Final Thoughts
Video production doesn’t need to be complicated.
With the right structure in place, it becomes a smooth, predictable process—from first enquiry to final delivery.
If you’re considering a project and want to understand how this would apply to your specific needs, the next step is simple: get in touch and start the conversation.
