When Brad Reynolds, a talented musician and dancer, reached out to us, he had a clear vision for his demo reel. He had a date and location lined up—a theatre in Sydney—and needed a video production team to handle the filming and editing. Our video production company was excited to help Brad bring his performance to life in a demo reel designed to capture the attention of prospective venues.
The Production Plan
After discussing Brad’s requirements, we recommended a setup with one of our experienced videographers and four cameras to ensure a multi-angle capture of his live performances. On the production day, we coordinated with Brad, the theatre technicians, and other performers. This initial briefing was essential in finding the best approach to capture each song and performance, ensuring that every shot would work well for the final edit.
Filming the Performances
Each performance was filmed a couple of times to give us flexibility during editing, allowing us to select the best shots for the final demo reel. With each camera capturing unique angles, we could emphasize both the close-up and wide-angle perspectives, showcasing Brad’s versatility as a performer.
Post-Production Magic
Back in the studio, we reviewed each clip, carefully selecting the best moments from each performance. Our team then edited these into a dynamic demo reel that highlights Brad’s musical and dance skills. To start the reel with impact, we added a strong opening hook to give viewers a quick overview of his artistry. We also produced a few standalone, uncut videos of individual performances so Brad could share his talent in longer formats when needed.
To enhance the visual consistency, we color corrected and matched footage across all four cameras, ensuring the demo reel looked polished and cohesive.
