We recently had the pleasure of working with Anton Koritni, a gifted musician known for his powerful vocals and piano skills. Anton reached out to Matt Callian Videography with the goal of recording a live session in a studio.
His aim was to create a polished showreel to showcase his musical talents to potential venue clients, and he needed a professional, high-quality video production to bring this vision to life.
The Perfect Studio: A-Sharp Recording Studio in Riverwood
For this project, Anton chose the renowned A-Sharp Recording Studio in Riverwood, NSW. Known for its exceptional acoustics and professional setup, it was the perfect location to capture Anton’s dynamic live performance. The studio provided an ideal backdrop, allowing us to focus on delivering top-notch video quality.
Setting Up for Success: 2-Crew, 5-Camera Setup
To capture the energy and emotion of Anton’s live performance, we opted for a 2-crew and 5-camera setup. This approach allowed us to film multiple angles, providing the flexibility needed for dynamic edits in the final video. With Anton’s powerful piano playing and singing at the forefront, we ensured our cameras captured wide shots, close-ups, and creative angles that highlighted his skills.
In addition to the studio’s excellent lighting, we brought in some of our own lights to enhance the mood, focusing on Anton and his band while maintaining an authentic live atmosphere.
Recording the Perfect Take
Each song was recorded twice to give Anton more flexibility in post-production. The musicians played to a click track, allowing Anton to seamlessly sync takes during editing. This method ensured he had plenty of options to craft a polished and professional final product.
Our role in this production was to deliver high-quality raw footage, which Anton and his team took over for editing. It was great to see how he transformed the footage into an engaging showreel that truly showcases his talent.
