VIDEO PRODUCTION NOTES

The ASMIRT 2023 Sydney conference was a flurry of activity and Matt Callian’s team was hard at work on this video production project to bring the event to life on screen. ASMIRT 2023 is the annual conference of the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, and it has become Australasia’s leading conference for Radiographers, Radiation Therapists, and the broader Medical Radiation Sciences community.

PRODUCTION

The conference unfolded at International Convention Centre Sydney, spanning two full days of exciting-packed content. Our videographers were there, ready to capture the essence of the conference, from insightful speaker sessions to engaging interviews, captivating keynotes, the bustling exhibition, and the vibrant social events. Throughout the event, the videographer was always available to the ASMIRT communication team, ensuring that no precious moment slipped through the cracks.

DELIVERABLES

The client had specific requests for not one, but three unique video edits designed to engage the audience across various platforms and purposes.

Extended Highlights Video (top of this page): presented in landscape format, showcasing the best bits from interviews and providing a taste of everything that happened during the event.
Short Vertical Highlights Video (here below): a quick teaser, offering a condensed version of the extended highlights.

Vox Pops Interviews (here below): Individual interviews with presenters, key figures, and exhibitors, with more than 10 of them captured during the two-day event. Each interview was edited separately and delivered in full.

POST-PRODUCTION

Following our video editing process standards, we began by organising the extensive footage captured during the two-day event. Our initial step involved sorting all the vox pop interviews and reviewing every on-camera segment to provide our client with individual clips while assessing their suitability for the highlights.

Next, we carefully curated the most compelling and relevant excerpts from the interviews to lay the foundation for the video’s structure. Throughout this process, we maintained open communication with ASMIRT’s marketing team to ensure alignment with their vision.

Upon receiving confirmation that our approach aligned with their expectations, we added the finishing touches to the video. This included incorporating music, transitions, color correction, grading, lower thirds, and graphics. We iterated through several rounds of revisions to refine the video until we achieved the final extended highlights.

Subsequently, we condensed the extended highlights into a concise one-minute vertical version tailored for social media. The entire project spanned approximately one month, culminating in a final product that left our client satisfied.
