Corporate conversations don’t have to feel scripted. In fact, the best ones rarely do.
For this project, I worked with Montu to produce a professionally filmed conversation piece featuring Jodie Thomas, Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and Patient Advocacy at Montu, and Cathy Slattery, Head of Patient Programs at Rare Cancers Australia.

Created as part of the Kosi Challenge initiative, the conversation explored the evolution of the challenge over the past fourteen years, the importance of patient advocacy, and how partnerships between organisations can create meaningful support for Australians living with rare cancers.
Rather than filming a conventional interviewer-and-guest format, the brief was to create a genuine conversation. Each participant guided the discussion by asking questions and prompting the other’s responses, resulting in a relaxed, authentic exchange while ensuring key messages were delivered naturally.
A Corporate Conversation, Not an Interview
Productions like this require a slightly different approach to a traditional corporate interview.
Because both speakers are actively engaged throughout the discussion, eye lines, pacing and audio all become more important. The goal is to create a conversation that feels effortless while maintaining the production quality expected from a polished corporate communications piece.
To achieve this, the production was filmed using a three-camera setup consisting of one wide master shot and two dedicated close-up cameras. This allowed the conversation to flow naturally while providing maximum flexibility during editing.
Each participant was fitted with professional lapel microphones to capture clean, broadcast-quality dialogue independently, ensuring consistent audio throughout the discussion.
Using an Off-Camera Teleprompter Naturally
Although the conversation was designed to feel spontaneous, both participants had specific topics and messaging that needed to be covered.
To make delivery comfortable and natural, an off-camera teleprompter was positioned beside the cameras. Rather than reading full scripts, it displayed prompts and key questions, allowing both speakers to maintain eye contact with one another while moving confidently through the conversation.
This approach removes much of the pressure from corporate presenters, helping conversations feel genuine without sacrificing structure.
Choosing the Right Location
The production was filmed inside the Sorting Space at Hub Martin Place in Sydney.
The room offered exactly what this style of production required: excellent acoustics, warm interior finishes and a clean, contemporary backdrop that complemented the professional tone of the discussion. Good locations don’t need to be elaborate—they simply need to allow the audience to focus on the people and the story.
Deliverables
This production was completed using our Full Setup (3 Hours) service.
The client received:
- Three-camera multicamera production
- Professional lapel microphone audio
- Complete editing, colour grading and audio finishing
- Delivery of the finished conversation piece
- All original raw footage from each camera for future repurposing
